白玉菩提根手串（收于2019年）菩提根不是树根，而是一种叫做贝叶棕的种子，属于菩提子的一种。贝叶棕属棕榈科，是一种常绿乔木，是热带地区绿化环境的优良树种。

中国现有的贝叶棕原产印度、斯里兰卡等亚洲热带国家，是随着佛教（小乘佛教）的传播而被引入的，己有700多年的历史，仅在云南西双版纳地区零星栽植于缅寺（佛寺）旁边和植物园内。The bodhi root is not a root, but a seed called Beiyezong tree, which belongs to a kind of bodhi seed. Beiyezong tree belonging to the Palmae family, and is an excellent tree species for greening environment in tropical areas.

The existing palm leaf palm in China originated from tropical Asian countries such as India and Sri Lanka. It was introduced with the spread of Buddhism ( Hinayana Buddhism). It has a history of more than 700 years. It is only scattered in Xishuangbanna of Yunnan Province and planted beside The Buddhist Temple and in the Botanical Garden.
